Messianic Judaism

On Saturday, December 20th, we had a Jewish rabbi in studio by the name of Glen Harris who steadfastly maintains that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. While for many this is an outrageous concept, Rabbi Glen insists that Jesus fits the profile for the Messiah laid out in the Old Testament Scriptures. And he is right! In fact, prophecy after prophecy concerning the coming of Messiah were meticulously fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Consequently, those who deny the Messiahship of Jesus are not being faithful to Jewish Scripture (even though they may vociferously insist that they are). Interestingly, Rabbi Glen made it clear that this was not always his position. On the contrary, like so many other Jews, for a time he believed that Jesus was the great pretender and that Christianity was a fairy tale. However, at a certain stage in his life, after he was challenged to carefully examine the Bible, he had to concede that Jesus was "the Christ," the Son of the living God. Fortunately, in addition to being the Messiah, Jesus is also the Savior, which is the preeminate reason for His first advent. Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners and those who trust in Him will be eternally saved!
